Open Gardens Part II

I said in my last post that on my stroll around some Open Gardens on Sunday,
I had encountered a certain summer house
I simply could not get out of my head...

Now, I think you will understand why...!

I dare say I think this beautiful garden is the wonderful work of someone with
both passion for gardens and the skills to make the dream come true.

A garden for all the senses, with "come and explore me" areas,
olfaction-tingling borders,
an old tree that once was part of an old orchard and which in its
advancing years is heard whispering "climb me, climb me" as you stroll past it
on your way to discretely stroke the lavender for a calming whiff...

Large pine cone "bunting" in the old tree - what a lovely idea!

Pots, pots, pots...

Those of you who have read my blog for a while know my weakness for wooden trays,
particularly weathered ones - yum, yum!

The more vibrant-coloured flower border against the wall, above which you can
enjoy the gorgeous view across the valley and the hill beyond.

¨

This photo is taken standing with my back to the house. If you turn left just after the small tree on your left, you will be facing the lovely summer house. In the distance, you can see the green house, which rubs shoulders with a lovely vegetable garden.

A stunning garden and one which put more than one idea in my already inundated head...
Dear, oh dear.
Now where,
when and
how
can I build myself a summer house like this?!
(Well, the "how" I can work out, it is more the "where" and the "when", accompanied by the "how to convince the rest of the family about its necessity" that will take some pondering...)

Thank you, J and A, for sharing your wonderful garden with us!

Wishing you lovely summer days, whether in a summery house or without!
Helena

  1. Darling Helena, these gardens are stunning! I love the cottage of the last post, and the mixed borders you show us today!
Here where I live we are having the most hot and dry summer of the last years (no rain since 2 months). I'm going to design my new garden and I think I'll really have to choose all plants with low water needs...
    Hugs!

  2. What a beautiful garden Helena and the pine cone bunting is such a great idea strung along the branches of the tree.
Maybe you will work out the 'where and when' some time soon...

  5. Hej hej!

    Kram Sanna

  6. Hi Helena
Yes, such a garden house is a thin, one really needs :o). If you've convinced your husband you can turn your skills to mine *LoL*. But I have to confess that I wouldn't have the ground/place for such a lovely thing.
In this week I got the new issue from "Landhaus" and guess what I found there: an article about your gorgeous home. I first recognized the big windows and then of course your face. I really had to smile seeing you in this magazine. The story was very well written and with beautiful photos accompanied... but this you know already I guess.
Have a beautiful day and thank you for this lovely garden tour.

gör själ för namnet, fantastiskt fint.

  8. The year before last a neighbour and I (armed with the Yellow Book) tootled around in glorious weather visiting open gardens. I can remember being inspired and amazed at the loving care and attention people lavished on their magnificent gardens, and guess what I didn't take my camera! I can now gaze at the gardens in your recent posts to cheer myself up during this wet and windy summer.xx
